What the research supports

Three capsules a day give 249 mg of a concentrated tongkat ali extract, plus a smaller epimedium extract. The bottle is a 60 day supply.

249 mg a day of a 100:1 extract standardised to 22 percent eurypeptides matches the material the human studies used, which most tongkat products on the shelf do not.

People under sustained mental load

The clearest human result on tongkat ali is lower cortisol and better tension and anger scores after four weeks in moderately stressed adults.

Someone who does not want a stimulant

There is no caffeine or yohimbine in it, so whatever it does, it does not come with a heart rate or jitter cost.

The label rules it out. Take that at face value and choose something without a fertility caution on it.

Someone who only wants the tongkat

A single ingredient tongkat ali extract at 200 to 400 mg a day gives you the studied part without the niacin flush, the epimedium or the damiana.

People who flush badly on niacin

25 mg a day of nicotinic acid is enough to cause real warmth and tingling in sensitive people. A formula using niacinamide, or none at all, avoids it.

What to expect

If you get the niacin flush it arrives about half an hour after the first capsule, as warmth and tingling across the face and chest, and it fades over the first week or two of daily use. Everything else takes time: the tongkat ali trials ran four weeks at minimum, with most reported change in stress and hormone measures appearing between four and twelve weeks.

Compared with a standalone tongkat ali extract

This adds 10 mg of zinc, a genuine cofactor in testosterone production, plus piperine for absorption and two traditional libido herbs. The tradeoff: You are also paying for epimedium and damiana, which have almost no human evidence at these amounts, and taking on a nicotinic acid flush a plain tongkat capsule would never give you.

Compared with maca powder

Tongkat ali has been tested against placebo in men for stress and hormone measures at the dose used here, while maca's human work sits mostly on desire scores without a matching hormonal change. The tradeoff: Maca costs less, is eaten as a food in Peru, and carries none of the list of use restrictions this label does.
