Why people keep reordering it

Best suited to: picky eaters aged four to eight, teens who skip meals, families avoiding dyes and artificial sweeteners.

What the research supports

A chewable multivitamin covering B vitamins, vitamin C, and minerals like zinc and iron. One tablet daily from age four, two after age nine.

Trials in children use 400 to 1000 IU of vitamin D a day.

Filling diet gaps (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial)
Children's multivitamin trials raise blood levels of whatever nutrients they're short on. The benefit shows up mainly in kids who started out low, not those already eating well.
Thyroid hormone (evidence: strong, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
Iodine is a building block of thyroid hormone, and the 50 mcg here covers over half what a young child needs each day, useful now that iodized salt use has dropped.

Is it right for you

Worth it if

picky eaters aged four to eight
one tablet covers the water-soluble gaps well, with 125 mg of vitamin C and a full B complex all above a young child's requirement.
teens who skip meals
at the two-tablet dose a teenager gets 10 mcg of B12 and 4 mg of B6, which covers the gap that shows up with erratic eating or a mostly plant-based diet.
families avoiding dyes and artificial sweeteners
the colour comes from turmeric and beetroot red and the sweetness from stevia leaf and fruit sugars.

Look elsewhere if

a child who needs vitamin D covered
a standalone 400 to 1000 IU D3 chewable or drop. 200 IU of the D2 form here does not do that job on its own.
a child with measured low iron
2 mg of iron fumarate is a token amount against the 8 to 10 mg a school-age child needs daily. A dedicated iron bisglycinate dose sized to a blood test is the right route.
anyone counting on it for calcium
200 mg is a fifth of a young child's 1000 mg daily need, and it shares a tablet with iron and zinc that compete for the same absorption path. Food, or a separate calcium taken at a different time of day, does far more.

What to expect

Nothing to feel. A multivitamin is insurance against gaps, not a stimulant, and a child who was already eating reasonably will notice no difference at all. If they were genuinely short of something like B12, any change in appetite or energy shows up over weeks. Bright yellow urine within a few hours is riboflavin passing through and is completely normal.

How it compares

Compared with a plain kids vitamin D3 drop
this covers the whole B complex, 125 mg of vitamin C, zinc, iodine and copper, none of which a single-nutrient drop touches. The tradeoff: its own vitamin D is only 200 IU and in the weaker D2 form, so it does not replace that drop. Realistically you end up owning both.
Compared with a gummy multivitamin
a pressed chewable can carry mineral weight that a gummy base cannot, which is why calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, copper and iodine are all actually present here. The tradeoff: it is a firm tablet to chew rather than a candy, which is a harder sell to a six year old who has had gummies before.
