Sisu Sisu - Ester-C 250mg - Orange, 120 chew
Sisu Ester-C - 250 mg - Orange Flavour - A patented, non-acidic form of Vitamin C, developed by binding ascorbic acid with a mineral molecule. Ester C enters the blood stream 2 - 6 times faster than regular Vitamin C and cells retain the benefits up to 4 times longer. Vitamin C is a well-known, powerful antioxidant, available through diet or supplementation, essential for boosting immune functions, balancing cholesterol, assisting the absorption of iron, and necessary for the maintenance of healthy bones, teeth, gums, skin and blood vessels.

Why people keep reordering it
- Year-round defense
- Daily support for a resilient immune response.
- Antioxidant support
- Helps protect cells from everyday oxidative stress.
- Tradition meets research
- Time-tested ingredients in clinically informed doses.
Best suited to: a household dosing a child and an adult, children four and up, anyone who cannot swallow tablets.
What the research supports
Each chewable is 250 mg of vitamin C as near pH-neutral Ester-C, not sharp ascorbic acid. One bottle serves kids at one tablet and adults at up to six.
Studies use 200 mg or more of vitamin C a day.
- Cold symptoms (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
- Vitamin C fuels the immune cells your body relies on day to day, and regular use shortens how long cold symptoms last, more so in children than adults.
- Iron absorption (evidence: strong, from randomized controlled trial, controlled feeding studies)
- Vitamin C eaten with a meal keeps plant iron in the form the gut absorbs best. That matters most for children who eat little meat and get most of their iron from plants.
- Gum health (evidence: strong, from randomized controlled trial, controlled feeding studies)
- Vitamin C is a required cofactor for the enzymes that build and repair collagen. Gums and small blood vessels are usually the first tissues to show a shortfall.

Is it right for you
Worth it if
- a household dosing a child and an adult
- the same 250 mg tablet is one dose for a four year old and a quarter dose for an adult, so nobody needs a second bottle.
- children four and up
- 250 mg in one tablet leaves real headroom under the 650 mg upper level for a four to eight year old, and the ascorbate salts mean it is not sour enough to be spat out.
- anyone who cannot swallow tablets
- it is chewed rather than swallowed, and calcium and sodium ascorbate are near neutral so chewing it does not taste like biting a lemon.
Look elsewhere if
- an adult who just wants 1,000 mg a day
- that is four tablets and four rounds of citric acid and fruit sugar. A single 1,000 mg buffered tablet does the same job in one swallow and costs less per gram.
- children under four
- the directions start at four. Below that use a liquid vitamin C dosed in drops, which also removes the choking risk of a chewable tablet.
- anyone avoiding all added sugar
- dextrose and fructose sit on the panel alongside the stevia leaf. A plain vitamin C capsule or powder has neither.
What to expect
Nothing you can feel. Taken steadily through the winter, the most consistent finding is a modest shortening of how long a bug drags on, and the effect is larger in children than in adults. Past roughly a gram at once in an adult, or noticeably less in a child, loose stools tell you that you have overshot.
How it compares
- Compared with a 500 mg chewable of the same buffered type
- 250 mg is the size that fits a small child. One 500 mg tablet is most of a four to eight year old's daily upper level, and this one is not. The tradeoff: an adult needs twice as many tablets for the same milligrams, so at the full adult range this bottle can be gone in three weeks.
- Compared with plain ascorbic acid powder
- near-neutral ascorbate salts in a measured 250 mg tablet, flavoured and ready to chew, with nothing to weigh out. The tradeoff: ascorbic acid powder costs a small fraction as much per gram, and the buffered form has no proven absorption advantage to justify the gap.
