Sisu Sisu - Cold & Flu Rescue, 60 vcaps

Sisu Cold & Flu Rescue - Formulated to boost immune health and lessen the severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms. Ester-C, andrographis, NAC (N-acetyl-L-cysteine), and echinacea work together to support lung, respiratory, and immune health. This antioxidant-rich Ester-C formula supports immune health during the immune-challenging months of cold and flu season. Clinical studies show that Ester-C increases vitamin C levels in the body for up to 24 hours. Cold & Flu Rescue with Ester-C is a natural alternative to over-the-counter drugs that simply suppress symptoms.

Why people keep reordering it

Year-round defense
Daily support for a resilient immune response.
Antioxidant support
Helps protect cells from everyday oxidative stress.
Tradition meets research
Time-tested ingredients in clinically informed doses.

Best suited to: keeps one bottle in the cupboard for winter, chest feels heavy and congested, stomach objects to plain vitamin c.

What the research supports

A six-capsule daily course built around andrographis and NAC. The bottle covers ten days, the length of a typical course.

Studies use 1,200 mg of NAC a day.

Sore throat (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
Andrographis calms the inflammation behind a sore throat and stuffy nose. Taken at the first signs of illness, short trials found it eases symptoms faster than placebo within three to five days.
Mucus (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
NAC breaks the chemical bonds that make mucus thick and hard to clear. At the dose used here, studies show it becomes easier to cough up and breathe through.
Run-down feeling (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
Gram-level vitamin C taken daily is linked to a shorter stretch of feeling run down during a cold, though the effect is measured in hours rather than days.

Is it right for you

Worth it if

keeps one bottle in the cupboard for winter
The 10 day course at six capsules a day is exactly how andrographis and echinacea are used, at the first sign rather than year round.
chest feels heavy and congested
1,200 mg of NAC a day is the amount studied for loosening mucus, and it is the ingredient here doing that specific job.
stomach objects to plain vitamin C
Calcium ascorbate is pH neutral, which is what makes 1,800 mg a day tolerable when ascorbic acid at that level is not.

Look elsewhere if

anyone pregnant or trying to conceive
andrographis is not recommended in pregnancy. Vitamin C and vitamin D on their own are the safer winter choice.
someone wanting year-round immune support
the label caps continuous use at 8 weeks. Vitamin D3 through the winter, at 1,000 to 2,000 IU a day, is the daily habit worth having instead.
someone who wants to act within the first hours
zinc acetate or gluconate lozenges, dissolved in the mouth every few hours, act locally and faster than anything swallowed.

What to expect

Taken at the first sign at the full six capsules a day, the andrographis trials report a noticeable difference by day 3 to 5, and the NAC usually makes mucus easier to shift within a couple of days. Andrographis is bitter and can cause mild stomach upset, which is why the label says to take it with meals.

How it compares

Compared with a 1,000 mg vitamin C tablet
Vitamin C is the smallest part of this. The reason to pay more is the 1,200 mg of NAC and the andrographis, which are the ingredients with short-course human research behind them. The tradeoff: It costs several times more per day than plain vitamin C, and a full bottle only lasts 10 days at the label dose.
Compared with zinc lozenges
This works from the inside over several days, with the NAC in particular acting on mucus, which lozenges do nothing for. The tradeoff: Zinc lozenges have the stronger evidence for shortening how long you feel rough, they act in the throat within the first day, and they cost a fraction as much.
