What to expect

The curcumin trials that reported joint comfort changes ran 8 to 12 weeks, so give this two months of daily use before judging it. Concentrated turmeric on an empty stomach causes mild reflux in some people, and taking the capsule with a meal containing some fat handles that and helps uptake at the same time.

How it compares

Compared with a standard 95 percent curcumin extract at 500 mg

The 50 percent bisdemethoxycurcumin ratio is not something an ordinary extract can give you, since BDMC is a low single digit percentage of its curcuminoids. The tradeoff: Fewer total curcuminoids per capsule at a higher price, in exchange for a ratio whose advantage in people is not settled.

Compared with curcumin combined with piperine

No pepper extract here, so none of the stomach irritation piperine causes in a minority of people. The tradeoff: Piperine has real human absorption data behind it, and dropping it means leaning entirely on BDMC's own solubility instead.
