Why people keep reordering it
- Highly absorbable forms
- Chelated forms your body takes up, instead of oxide that mostly passes through.
- Calm and recovery
- Supports muscle relaxation, sleep quality and everyday stress resilience.
- Gentle on digestion
- Formulated to skip the laxative effect of cheaper magnesium.
Best suited to: over 50 and not short on iron, wants d3 and vitamin k together, will not keep up with a three-a-day.
What the research supports
A one-a-day men's 50+ multi built around 1000 IU vitamin D3 and 260 mcg vitamin K, with no iron. The bottle is 60 capsules, a two-month supply.
A one-a-day multi carries maintenance amounts. The 1000 IU of D3 is the standard Canadian maintenance dose; the rest is gap filling.
- Nutrient gaps (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
- A daily multi fills in nutrients missing from an inconsistent diet rather than adding to one that's already sufficient. That's the realistic case for taking one every day.
- Bone (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
- Vitamin D3 helps the body absorb calcium, and vitamin K directs that calcium into bone rather than tissue. Most research on the K effect used higher doses than the 260 mcg here.
- Energy (evidence: moderate, from randomized controlled trial, meta-analysis)
- B vitamins are cofactors your cells need to turn food into energy, so correcting a real shortfall helps. Topping up an already adequate diet with more doesn't raise energy further.

Is it right for you
Worth it if
- Over 50 and not short on iron
- Built iron-free on purpose, which matters because men lose very little iron and tend to accumulate stores rather than run them down.
- Wants D3 and vitamin K together
- 1000 IU of D3 alongside 260 mcg of vitamin K covers a pairing for bone maintenance that usually means two separate bottles.
- Will not keep up with a three-a-day
- One vegetarian capsule at breakfast, 60 to a bottle, which is the version people actually finish.
Look elsewhere if
- Someone with a confirmed low vitamin D reading
- A standalone D3 at 2000 to 5000 IU. 1000 IU here is a holding dose and will not correct much on its own.
- Counting on this for magnesium or calcium
- 65 mg of magnesium oxide and 100 mg of calcium carbonate are rounding errors. A separate magnesium bisglycinate at 200 mg elemental does the actual work.
- Specifically wants methylated B vitamins
- The folate here is folic acid at 0.25 mg and the B12 is cyanocobalamin. If you want methylfolate and methylcobalamin, buy those as a separate B complex.
What to expect
A multivitamin produces no sensation. If it is filling a real gap the payoff runs over months and shows up as fewer of the small effects of running low, not as anything you notice this week.
How it compares
- Compared with a three-capsule-a-day multi
- One capsule with breakfast instead of a schedule most people abandon by week three. The tradeoff: Mineral doses have to shrink to fit. A three-a-day can carry real magnesium and calcium, a single capsule cannot.
- Compared with a basic supermarket multivitamin
- Natural d-alpha vitamin E, chelated zinc, selenium and chromium, 260 mcg of vitamin K and no iron, a combination a basic tablet rarely puts together. The tradeoff: Costs more, and the fruit and vegetable blends at 15 mg each are far too small to count as produce in any real sense.
