What the research supports

Mineral retention (evidence: limited, from small human trial): Boron at these low milligram amounts reduced how much calcium and magnesium the body lost in urine, in small studies that have not been repeated at scale.

Worth it if

Already eating dairy or fortified alternatives: Your calcium intake is mostly handled, and what is missing is the D3, MK-7, boron and silicon that decide where that calcium goes.
Cannot tolerate large calcium carbonate tablets: At 100 mg per tablet from an algae matrix rather than a dense carbonate slug, the mineral load per swallow is far smaller.
Wants vegan-source D3: The cholecalciferol here is from lichen, not sheep lanolin, which is unusual in a bone formula.
Wants boron and silicon, not just calcium: Both are on the panel at 0.5 mg, and both are routinely left out of standard calcium and D products.

What to expect

Nothing perceptible, and be suspicious of any bone product that promises otherwise. Bone mineral density moves over 12 to 24 months and only a scan will show it. Vitamin D status will show on bloodwork after a couple of months.

How it compares

Compared with a plain calcium carbonate with vitamin D tablet: Adds MK-7, boron, silicon, magnesium across six forms and activated B vitamins, and the calcium arrives inside an algae mineral matrix carrying magnesium and trace elements rather than as one isolated salt. The tradeoff: Far less calcium per tablet and a much higher price per 100 mg of it. If the only goal is hitting a calcium number, carbonate does that for a fraction of the cost.
