someone who wants vitamin D3: D2 raises and holds blood levels less effectively per IU than cholecalciferol. Add a separate D3, or choose a formula built on D3 if you are not vegan.
anyone buying it mainly for magnesium: oxide is the least absorbed magnesium form. A bisglycinate or citrate at 200 mg elemental gives far more usable magnesium.
someone who struggles with large tablets: a coated calcium citrate tablet at 300 mg is physically big. Capsules at 100 mg each, or a calcium powder, are easier to get down.

What to expect

Nothing you can feel. Calcium and vitamin D act on bone maintenance across years. What you might notice is looser stools from the magnesium oxide, most likely if you take both tablets at once, which splitting them usually fixes.
