What to expect

The first thing you notice is what does not happen: no urgency and no loose stool of the kind a cheap magnesium can cause. Beyond that, changes in muscle tension or sleep build slowly over two to four weeks of consistent nightly use, and they are gentle. This does not sedate you.

How it compares

Compared with magnesium oxide tablets: Oxide is poorly absorbed and much of a dose passes through, which is why it loosens the bowel.
